Kerione Bryan (KTP) is a fun loving young man that is blessed with the gift of writing poetry. He is from the beautiful island of Jamaica, from the Parish of Portland ’where the water is always blue and the trees are always green, because the rain is unpredictable.’ Portland is one of the rainiest places on earth, because of the Blue Mountains, which is home to many species of plants and animals. Portland also has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. These things have made Kerione who he is and he has incorporated these things in his writings. He has gotten 11 poems published in the Jamaica Gleaner which include Under Water and Magnificent Nature. He has gotten a few poems aired on International radio, Joy 1250: Christian Radio for the Greater Toronto Area in Canada and The Butterfly Effect Radio in the U.S. He also got a poem published in the Inner Child Press Magazine. He is the Founder and President of Island Poetry, Inc. group, which currently has 7 members who are poets that have gotten their poems, published in newspapers, magazines, anthologies and have even published their own book. He is also a member of the Think Out Loud Poetry Group where he is the Idea Architect. He looks up to poets like Maya Angelou, Billy Collins, Mutabaruka Tupac Shakur and George the Poet. Poetry is just one of his many talents; he is also good at debating, dancing, drawing, story writing, fashion, rapping and deejaying (dancehall music). He is 27 years old and is currently enrolled at the University of Technology, Jamaica, majoring in finance and banking. In the future he would like to pursue a career in the banking industry, publish books, e-books, audio books, dub poetry albums, spoken word poetry albums and perform all over the world. He said "When I think of poetry I see a world of opportunity and an untapped art form that can touch people, change lives and bring about a greater change in the world."
